I have always loved hot air balloons and when my son invited me to go to Simpsonville, SC with him a few weeks ago, I jumped at the chance. Since the mid-1980’s, Simpsonville has had a hot air balloon festival with as many balloons as 100 floating in the sky. Unfortunately, it was breezy on the weekend we went and there was just one window of calm for them to fly so very few went up. That was okay for me and just enough time to photograph a few as they drifted above and beyond.
A true Southerner, I was born in Georgia but lived most of my adult life in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In 2001, my husband and I retired and moved to beautiful Sarasota, FL. We quickly realized that we were not retirement material and could not play golf two or three times a week so we got our real estate licenses and affiliated with Coldwell Banker on Longboat Key. My love for photography is very beneficial to me when photographing interiors and exteriors of the homes we list.
Other than photography, I have a keen interest in genealogy and golf (whenever I can find the spare time from our real estate practice).

Very nice. Glad you could see them – even if just a few, go airborne.

Nice picture but there is no way you could get me up in one of those. I would look over the side and my stomach would go right up into my throat. ;-(
