A 52-Week Photo Journey

Week 16 – #9. Foggy

A great event can be planned wherein 140 paddleboarders will race down the Tennessee River from downtown Chattanooga and gather at Hale’s Bar Dam, a distance of 31 miles, but a perfect sunny day with pleasant temperatures can’t always be scheduled to the liking of everyone. With a temperature of 32 degrees, and fog so thick you could only see a few feet in front of you, many paddleboarders arrived at 5:00 a.m. to get in a little practice prior to an 8:00 a.m. start. Because it was so foggy, it was delayed for over two hours, giving me plenty of time to capture photos, a few of which are shown below. The winning stand-up paddler, Thomas Maximus from California, finished in 4 hours, 49 minutes. The event was called ChattaJack31.

A true Southerner, I was born in Georgia but lived most of my adult life in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In 2001, my husband and I retired and moved to beautiful Sarasota, FL. We quickly realized that we were not retirement material and could not play golf two or three times a week so we got our real estate licenses and affiliated with Coldwell Banker on Longboat Key. My love for photography is very beneficial to me when photographing interiors and exteriors of the homes we list. Other than photography, I have a keen interest in genealogy and golf (whenever I can find the spare time from our real estate practice).
