A 52-Week Photo Journey

Week 16. – #43. Solitary

The fall season is my favorite time of the year and when I thoroughly enjoy long drives and walks in the woods in and around my hometown of Chattanooga. This is when I can leave my cares behind, explore meadows and admire the majesty of old-growth trees, moss and the sound of a waterfall or stand on top of a mountain looking through mist and fog. These are magical times for me. As I drove over the mountain on this day, I determined winter was fast approaching as indicated by this solitary fallen red leaf.

A true Southerner, I was born in Georgia but lived most of my adult life in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In 2001, my husband and I retired and moved to beautiful Sarasota, FL. We quickly realized that we were not retirement material and could not play golf two or three times a week so we got our real estate licenses and affiliated with Coldwell Banker on Longboat Key. My love for photography is very beneficial to me when photographing interiors and exteriors of the homes we list. Other than photography, I have a keen interest in genealogy and golf (whenever I can find the spare time from our real estate practice).

  12. Nice long view into the colorful trees. The highway looks like it has been swept clean….save on fall leaf. Very nice!

  14. Thanks to everyone for your nice comments. To address Patricia’s traffic comment: I was on a country mountain road just outside of Chattanooga in Georgia and the only thing that approached was a farmer on his tractor.
