Week 50 – #46 Still Life

On a recent return trip from Chattanooga, we stopped in central Georgia at a roadside stand and purchased some peaches. After making two peach cobblers (both of which were consumed by my husband), I decided to use the wooden slat basket as a platform for a still life photo.

A true Southerner, I was born in Georgia but lived most of my adult life in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In 2001, my husband and I retired and moved to beautiful Sarasota, FL. We quickly realized that we were not retirement material and could not play golf two or three times a week so we got our real estate licenses and affiliated with Coldwell Banker on Longboat Key. My love for photography is very beneficial to me when photographing interiors and exteriors of the homes we list. Other than photography, I have a keen interest in genealogy and golf (whenever I can find the spare time from our real estate practice).

    • Thanks, Diane and Carolyn. Still life is not my “thing,” but I had this beautiful wood slat basket which was full of Georgia peaches and I hated to throw it away. To me, wood slat baskets speak of farmers so I added a texture which looked more like old wallpaper and tossed in some veggies that I planned to use for dinner. Glad you and Carolyn liked the end result.

  5. Mary, Thank you for the tip of setting up dates for posts. Just did one for tomorrow. I think it might be really useful for me with next years themes and keeping current.
