A 52-Week Photo Journey

Week 15 – #34. Splash Of Color

As Mike and I were strolling through the West Village at lunchtime, we spotted a small restaurant and decided to go in for a sandwich. It could not have had more than 5 or 6 small tables plus 4 or 5 stools at the bar.  The building itself was old with worn wood plank floors, large wood framed windows opening outward over the sidewalk, black frames around old photos on the walls and an antique exit lamp affixed to the wall adding a “splash of color” at the entrance/exit door.

A true Southerner, I was born in Georgia but lived most of my adult life in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In 2001, my husband and I retired and moved to beautiful Sarasota, FL. We quickly realized that we were not retirement material and could not play golf two or three times a week so we got our real estate licenses and affiliated with Coldwell Banker on Longboat Key. My love for photography is very beneficial to me when photographing interiors and exteriors of the homes we list. Other than photography, I have a keen interest in genealogy and golf (whenever I can find the spare time from our real estate practice).

  1. I can’t stand it! Just PLEASE don’t pick up that accent! Just kidding! So happy you are enjoying life and new experiences! Do you guys have an apt. in N.Y. now???

    • So funny you should ask about an apartment. I am trying to convince Mike that we should buy something small there; however, after discovering the square footage we could get for the amount of money we would be willing to spend, we have determined that we would feel a bit cramped in 300 – 400 Sq. Ft.

  2. Sounds like a good find. I like the splash of colour.
