Week 32 – #49. Way Down Low

One evening last week, Mike and I decided to have a late dinner at Mar Vista on the north end of Longboat Key.  As usual, we had to wait to be seated so we strolled out onto one of the docks and noticed “way down low” beneath the dock and below the water several fish (snook perhaps?) were swimming back and forth and highlighted by a large underwater light.

Week 34 -#A4. Photographer’s Choice

Blue hour, my favorite time of day, provided me with this scene one evening as I was traveling to my office on Longboat Key. In addition to the lighting, the movement of traffic crossing the Ringling Bridge was a perfect “photographer’s choice” for a long exposure.

Week 7 – #1. At A Distance

As many of you know, I am a Coldwell Banker real estate agent serving Sarasota and Manatee Counties with an office in Sarasota on Longboat Key. Often I have said if a person works, his/her workday would pass more quickly if they had a nice view from their office window. Although this view is from our conference room, it is visible as I walk through the various offices and hallways. You’ll notice at a distance is where Sarasota Bay meets the Gulf of Mexico.

A3. Leading Lines (Week 42)

On a recent field trip to Beer Can Island, amidst all the fallen trees and driftwood, it was difficult to select just one thing to photograph. I walked the beach, over and around the fallen trees until I found two tree trunks which provided leading lines out to the Gulf of Mexico. It seemed like the perfect subject matter for this week’s theme, “Leading Lines.”

14. All Alone

When you see someone all alone on the beach, do you ever wonder what he or she is thinking about?  Could it be something as simple as winding down after a long day at work, pleasant memories or something deeper such as unhappiness?  This particular photo makes me think he is taking this special time alone to relive pleasant memories.Image
