Recently, I was at the Lakewood Ranch YMCA photographing an event and knew I would be able to capture something worthwhile as the children were splashing about in the pool. Many different challenges were given to the children but the one that caught my eye was “Fill The Bucket,” where the children were assigned to teams and each child would swim across the pool with a cup in hand and place a cup of water into the bucket. The team who finished first was declared the winning team.
A true Southerner, I was born in Georgia but lived most of my adult life in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In 2001, my husband and I retired and moved to beautiful Sarasota, FL. We quickly realized that we were not retirement material and could not play golf two or three times a week so we got our real estate licenses and affiliated with Coldwell Banker on Longboat Key. My love for photography is very beneficial to me when photographing interiors and exteriors of the homes we list.
Other than photography, I have a keen interest in genealogy and golf (whenever I can find the spare time from our real estate practice).

I’m glad you like it, Patricia. It was a bright, sunny morning around 11:30 a.m., Nikon D300S, 28-300mm Nikon lens @145mm, F18, 1/200 Sec., ISO 200. It was shot in aperture priority.

Incredible that you got the entire contents of the cup in the air before any of it landed in the bucket!

Wow – fantastic photograph. I was just thinking I wish I knew how she did that. Then Patricia asked you. I have so much to learn. I also wondered about your Golden Mean – the detail is so good.
